American Legion Post 69 Capital Campaign keyboard_arrow_down

Please help us in our efforts to Rebuild Post 69 and reopen our post home by our 100th birthday, August 2020. At present, our building is so deteriorated that we cannot host any outside organization function or effectively be a resource to our veterans.

Within the community, our Post 69 home has hosted weddings, receptions, bingo, and parties for decades. Our building has taken a toll and our membership would like to make it a functional part of our community again, as well as a meeting hall and resource center for our veterans.

Fete-Dieu du Teche - Eucharistic Procession keyboard_arrow_down

The annual Eucharistic Procession down Bayou Teche will take place in August, annually. The date is important for Roman Catholics as it is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patroness of the Acadian people and of Acadiana. It is also a day that marks the 254th anniversary of the arrival of French-Canadian immigrants who brought the Catholic faith to Acadiana after enduring great trials and suffering. Fr. Michael Champagne, CJC, organizer of the event, notes that “having a Eucharistic Procession by boat on the waters of the Teche rather than by foot in the streets makes a lot of sense. Fête-Dieu du Teche on the Feast of the Assumption recalls our rich Acadian history. Learn more about the tradition online at
