This event will feature an awards ceremony recognizing those in the business and art community whose contribution has made an impact on the Acadiana community through Arts, Business and Culture.  The proceeds from the event will provide a foundation of gifts for the ABC fund, a fund dedicated to advocating and protecting Acadiana's art and cultural community by providing on-going business and financial support to artists, musicians, art and cultural organizations throughout the region.  

 The following will be recognized as Honorary Icons for 2017:

St. Mary Parish Foundation will be honoring 2017 St. Mary Parish Young Role Models at their "Walk the Red Carpet" Gala in late April.  Young Role Models are recognized for their impact on their profession in the community and their future as a leader in philanthropy.  The recipients are chosen from six different categories: 

  • Agriculture & Fisheries someone in agriculture, agri-business or fisheries
  • Arts music, art, decorative arts (interior design), construction design
  • Business retail, industry, banking,accounting
  • Education teacher or administrator who has made an impact
  • Healthcare doctors, vets, hospital administration, nursing
  • Service public service or volunteerism

Join the Iberia Parish Foundation at their Hats and Horses Kentucky Derby Party with the viewing of live racing action of the 143rd Derby. There will be friendly wagering as well as contests for the best hat for ladies and best dapper man. Our friends at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Louisiana Foundation are accepting nominations for 2017 Angel Award.They are looking for individuals who are exceptionally committed to changing the lives of Louisiana's children for the better. Along with having their stories told, each Angel receives a $20,000 grant to the charity of their choice to further the mission of serving kids.

The deadline for nominations is April 14.
