Life Is Good co-founder to be keynote speaker at Lafayette event 2011 Leaders in Philanthropy Awards set for Nov. 10

Bert Jacobs, co-founder of the popular Life Is Good company, will be the keynote speaker for the 2011 Leaders in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon in Lafayette.
Community Foundation of Acadiana will host the event, set for Nov. 10 at the Cajundome Convention Center. The event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit foundation.

The foundation says the event will "inspire, motivate and move our audience of leaders to be great in their businesses, and, in their charitable outreach."
Jacobs will speak on the power of optimism in both business and philanthropy. His company – made famous by t-shirts with empowering, optimistic sayings and designs – has reached sales of more than $100 million a year.
Jacobs speech is titled "The Power of Optimism, Leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility."
In addition to Jacobs’ speech, the event will also distribute Leader in Philanthropy Awards to an individual or corporation in each of the eight parishes served by the foundation.
Tickets are $50/per person and a reserved table of eight is $495.
