Iberia Parish Foundationís Competitive Grant Cycle awards over $13,000 to Seven Organizations in Local Community


Acadiana Dragon Boat Festival, Iberia On-Tap receives a grants from the Iberia Parish Foundationís competitive grants cycle for the funding of the "22 DragonsĒ organization who oversee the Acadiana Dragon Boat Festival.

The Iberia Parish Foundation (IPF) awards $13,179.30 to Iberia Performing Arts League, Envision da Berry, Bayou Teche Museum, CASA of the 16th JDC, Inc., Acadiana Boat Festival, New Iberia Museum Foundation, and Shadows-on-the-Teche for programs that strive to improve the local Iberia Parish community.

The New Iberia Museum Foundation receives a grant from the Iberia Parish Foundationís competitive grants cycle for the funding of the installing of the home studio where George Rodrigue last painted.

The Iberia Parish Foundation (IPF) awards Shadows-on-the-Teche (National Trust for Historic Preservation) a grant for their third-annual Plein Air Competition.

(New Iberia, LA) Ė The Iberia Parish Foundation, an affiliate of Community Foundation of Acadiana, recently awarded a total of 13,179.30 to 7 local nonprofit organizations from its competitive grant cycle.

The following organizations received an award:

  •  Iberia Performing Arts League for the purchase of new lighting equipment for the Orchestra.
  •  Envision da Berry for the "da Berry Fresh MarketĒ which works to bring local growers and farmers an opportunity to provide the community with healthy options as well providing locals with a job training program.
  •  Iberia Parish Development Foundation for The ABCís of Good Nutrition project.
  •  CASA of the 16th JDC, Inc. to aide with the CASA Advocates program, which focuses on ensuring highly individualized attention and advocacy to the communities most vulnerable children.
  •  Acadiana Dragon Boat Festival, Iberia On-Tap to assist in the funding of the "22 DragonsĒ organization who oversee the Acadiana Dragon Boat Festival.
  • New Iberia Museum Foundation for the installing of the home studio where George Rodrigue last painted.
  •  Shadows-on-the-Teche (National Trust for Historic Preservation) for the third-annual Plein Air Competition that invites local, regional and national artists to participate in plein air (in the open air) competition.

The funds for this grant cycle were raised by the Iberia Parish Foundationís Board of Directors through several fundraisers, including the Hats & Horses Derby held last May. Beverly Shea, Chair of the Iberia Parish Foundation said on behalf of the board "This is one of the most rewarding things that we do. We are pleased to be able to support worthy organizations in Iberia Parish.Ē

The cycle was open to any church, school or 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provided programs which broadly impact Iberia Parish in areas such as education, the arts, social services, community development, youth development and more.

The Iberia Parish Foundation is an affiliate of Community Foundation of Acadiana and has a separate board of directors, specifically for the benefit of Iberia Parish. The purpose of the Iberia Parish Foundation is to fund programs which broadly impact Iberia Parish and tofocus on enhancing the quality of life in Iberia Parish.
